When your netting arrives, you may notice you have more length than ordered. That’s because for every metre you buy, you’ll typically receive around 1.3 linear metres—this extra comes from how it’s folded or packaged in a “snake-length” style.

At first, the mesh openings look like diamonds. As you stretch the net out to full 10 m width, those diamonds will gradually become squares, and the length will contract. When the mesh holes look square, your net is properly stretched. Be cautious — if you pull it too wide, you’ll lose length, and if you stretch it too long, you’ll lose width.

The material will stretch slightly under tension, so be sure to allow for some slack or sag if the net is unsupported over long spans. If you’re uncertain about your measurements, ordering an extra metre can provide much-needed flexibility during installation.
