When your netting arrives, you may notice it’s longer than the exact length you ordered. That’s because for every metre in length you purchase, you’ll typically receive around 1.3 linear metres — this extra is due to the way the net is rolled or folded into a “snake-style” package.

At first glance, the mesh holes will appear as diamond shapes. As you stretch the net horizontally toward its full 12 m width, those diamonds will gradually become squares, and simultaneously the overall length will reduce. When the mesh holes appear square, your net is properly stretched.
Be careful — stretching the net too wide shortens the length, and stretching too long narrows the width.

This netting is constructed of UV-stabilised black polyethylene, giving it excellent resistance to sun damage and weathering. It’s a strong mesh rated at 30 g/m², balancing robustness with flexibility to suit large-scale garden and commercial use.

With 20 mm mesh size, it keeps out most garden birds while still allowing bees and beneficial insects to pollinate your plants.

Because the material will stretch marginally under tension, allow for some droop or slack if the net spans across wide areas without close support. If you're unsure of your dimensions, adding an extra metre to your order can give you a margin for error and help ensure full coverage.
