🌱 Garden Bird Netting 4 m Wide

When you unroll your netting, you may notice it’s longer than the amount you ordered. That’s because for every metre you purchase, you’ll typically receive around 1.3 linear metres of net. This extra is due to the way the material is folded or “snaked” in packaging.

At first, the mesh holes will appear diamond-shaped. As you pull the fabric out to full width (4 m), those diamonds will gradually reshape into squares, and the overall length will contract. When the mesh holes look square, your net is properly stretched.
Stretching too wide will shorten the length; stretching too long will narrow the width.

This netting is made from UV-stabilised black polyethylene, giving it excellent longevity and resistance to sun damage. It’s a robust mesh of 30 g/m² weight — strong yet flexible enough for domestic or professional use.

With 20 mm mesh openings, the netting blocks birds while still allowing bees and pollinators to reach your plants.

Because the material stretches slightly under tension, allow for some sag or droop if the net isn’t continuously supported. To be safe, order an extra metre if you’re unsure — having a little slack lets you secure it properly.
